Req ID: 24606PURPOSE: The position of Manager or Senior Manager, Quality Assurance consists of directing and supervising the activities of divisional Quality Assurance Department(s), participating in formulating and establishing organizational policies and operating procedures for the relevant division, and developing, implementing and coordinating QA programs to prevent and eliminate defects in new or existing products.JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Evaluate the requirements to maintain an effective Quality Management System, and review its effectiveness with senior management as appropriate.
- Set the Quality Assurance (QA) Department's policies, objectives and procedures.
- Design, implement and supervise the QA Programs within the business division.
- Direct and coordinate all activities of the QA Department including ISO9001 requirements, New Product Quality, Supplier Quality and Manufacturing Process Quality programs. Administer employee Performance Management processes.
- Lead the business division in the interpretation of the Quality Policy and procedures.
- Makes the final interpretation in all business division quality issues.
- Represent the QA Department in managerial meetings.
- Be a Champion to the Continuous Improvement initiative. Drive the team to develop, work towards, and achieve future state visions for the department and the Cleveland Operations.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's 2025 Strategy.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, a 4-year degree in another technical field, or 13 - 15+ years equivalent, relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Quality Management Systems, (7 years for Senior level).
- Experience supervising and managing direct reports.
- Extensive knowledge of Quality Management System tools, continuous improvement methodologies (6 Sigma, Lean), and an understanding of manufacturing processes and methods.
- Experience with computer analytical tools, such as MS Excel, plus Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems.
- Strong organizational, technical and analytical skills.
- Ability to observe problems, situations and people in all areas of manufacturing.
- Ability to communicate diplomatically at all levels of the organization, and with customers and outside agencies.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and drive solutions.
- Ability to develop solutions where processes and procedures do not currently exist.
- Knowledge of measurement methodologies, including tools, analysis and process capability.
- For Machine division QA: Experience with Printed Circuit board manufacturing processes, power electronics, powder and epoxy coating systems, automated testing of electrical products, gas and diesel engines; non-conformance inspection, data entry and analysis.
- For Consumables division QA: Experience with wire drawing, packaging and cut-to-length, copper plating, steel and chemical analysis tools and methods; non-conformance inspection, data entry and analysis.
