- Incorporate design changes and modifications into existing drawings as required.
- Ensure that drawings adhere to project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to review and refine designs.
- Generate bill of materials (BOM) and other documentation as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of presentation materials, technical reports, and other project documentation.
- Maintain organized files and documentation of drawings and revisions.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in CAD technology and software tools.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
- Knowledge of drafting standards, practices, and techniques.
- Understanding of engineering and construction principles.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, sketches, and specifications.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Associate's degree or certification in drafting, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in CAD drafting or a related field is preferred but not always required, especially for entry-level positions.
- Familiarity with specific industries such as architecture, mechanical engineering, or civil engineering may be beneficial.
- Roofing experience on commercial projects is a plus.
- CAD drafters typically work in office environments, often alongside engineers, architects, and project managers.
