We are seeking an outgoing and experienced Camp Counselor to join our team! As a Camp Counselor, your top priority will be to ensure the safety of our campers. You will oversee camper activities and make sure they don’t get lost or hurt. You will help supervise fun activities and games and outdoor education. The ideal candidate loves the outdoors and wants to share their passion with campers! Principle responsibilities include assisting Camp Frog campers (children ages 9 - 17 who have epilepsy) to have a fabulous week at summer camp by providing additional safety, behavioral and emotional support during the week of camp.Responsibilities:1. Complete an application2. Complete the following clearances: PA Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprint Background Check3. Attend a personal interview4. Attend a mandatory training on seizure recognition and first aid presented by EAWCP5. Attend and complete online child abuse prevention training as required by EAWCP6. Complete the mandatory video trainings as required by Camp Fitch7. Provide assist to Camp Frog campers and appropriate seizure first aid and seizure response in event a camper experiences a seizure while at camp8. Spend the entire week with the campers· Eating· Sleeping· Participating in all camp activities9. Inform the EAWCP Camp Coordinator of problems as they arise10. Comply with all Camp Fitch rules and regulations11. Be respectful of all campers and staff at Camp Fitch12. Act as a counselor to all other children in the cabin and on camp grounds13. Encourage participation and integration from Camp Frog campers14. Complete a post-camp surveyQualifications:1. 19-26 years of age2. High school diploma or GED required3. Knowledge of behavior modification techniques, child development, and other special needs concerns is favored4. Interest in working with children who have special needs5. Able to attend all meetings, trainings, and the entire week of camp6. Able to fulfill the responsibilities of the job without accommodations
