POSITION TITLE: Inventory ControllerACCOUNTABLE TO: Operations ManagerSUMMARY STATEMENT:This full-time position will participate in the day-to-day inventory activities related to the recycling of medium-duty buses and trucks. The ideal candidate will actively manage all inventory organization and related processes, including parts research, entry, stocking, and cycle counting. This includes assisting in implementing adjustments, corrections, or improvements to parts entry data while maximizing use of the Warehouse Management Software. This role will also assist with all parcel and LTL shipping and receiving responsibilities including preparing customer orders for shipment and sending core engine parts in bulk to select buyers.MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:1. Inventory Management: Manage and maintain inventory and organization of incoming vehicles (buses and trucks) including all vehicle and engine parts received from the teardown/salvage process, and all other cores, materials, and supplies generated from or used in the day-to-day operations. Tasks include parts research, cross-referencing part numbers, entering parts into inventory software, tagging and stocking new inventory, organizing scrap parts, improving warehouse layout, conducting cycle counts, and developing expertise in inventory management systems and salvaged bus and truck parts. May also assist with the removal of old/obsolete inventory through selling, recycling, or destroying. This may include updating listings and quantities on eBay.2. Shipping & Receiving: Assist with the day-to-day responsibility of accurately pulling and preparing customer orders to be shipped by small parcel carriers (SpeeDee, UPS, or USPS). Receive, inspect, and process all customer returns. Understand and accurately use relevant shipping and inventory software used in shipping and receiving processes.3. Preparing LTL Shipments: Assist in the day-to-day responsibility of quoting, palletizing, and scheduling Less Than Truckload (LTL) shipments.4. Vehicle and Equipment Handling: Operate electric and propane forklifts, as well as box trucks. Responsibilities include loading/unloading shipments, delivering/picking up materials and supplies, and managing inbound/outbound vehicle and engine parts.5. Additional Duties: Perform other tasks assigned by the Operations Manager, such as warehouse organization, part deliveries, and general maintenance and cleaning of the warehouse, workspaces, and equipment used. May also assist with purchasing duties for the department and managing vendor relationships when asked; and help answer incoming phone/sales calls if needed. Apply experience and common sense to suggest improved methods and practices.QUALIFICATIONS:· Must be 25 years of age or older with a valid driver's license.· Must be able to safely lift and carry automotive parts (50-100 lbs.) between second-floor warehouse storage and the shipping & receiving area on the ground level.· Previous warehouse or inventory experience is required.· General mechanical knowledge is preferred.· Must be proficient with the Microsoft suite, especially Excel spreadsheets.· Must be self-motivated, detailed, organized, and a good communicator.
