- Will respond to data inquires.
- Perform database update tasks.
- Manage the administration of ESRI and Smallworld software products and databases.
- Manage specialized databases and spreadsheets, entering data and generating reports with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Manage all database-related tasks, generate work requests and various reports, conduct queries and research, perform edits and back-ups, update programs and files, and maintain the integrity and security of the database.
- Support field crews and arborists with reports, maps, spreadsheets, etc.
- Operate system forestry computer programs and record systems.
- Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations and an open line of communication with management.
- Possess good communication skills with field staff and office staff.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be able to work alone and sit for long periods of time.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel for
- Advanced creation and use of formulas
- Ability to create a variety of charts and graphs
- Ability to create pivot tables
- Use of multi-sheet workbooks
- Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities and show attention to detail.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must have 2- 5 years experience in UVM, Forestry, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Must have strong Tree ID skills.
- Must be proficient in GIS Technology.
- Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science or related field.
- Two years GIS Experience strongly desired.
- Extensive understanding of the ESRI Suite, Geodatabases, Oracle databases, ArcGIS Online, Arcview, Arc Editor, and ArcInfo, etc.
- Knowledge of how processes work, timelines, data flow, etc.
- Skill/experience with financial software a plus.
- Being Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
