Medical, dental, vision, and 401k, among other benefits are available without a waiting period and offered at a low cost to you.Major Position ResponsibilitiesThis position will be located at the new GD-OTS facility located in Mesquite, TX. This will be for a Second Shift Position. Second Shift will have a premium.SUMMARY: Sets up and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment. Performs all work in accordance with established safety proceduresESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operates, tests, and monitors assigned equipment according to established guidelines for an organization.
  • Observes and conducts operation of equipment and documents maintenance needs.
  • Troubleshoots control panels, error lights, and messages to ensure proper equipment function. May communicate with equipment technicians relating to highly complex issues.
IMPACT OF THE ROLE:
  • Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
  • Works with clearly defined methods and tasks that are described in detail
  • Works under close supervision with little autonomy
Basic QualificationsEducation and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
  • 0-3 years prior experience in a similar position. Industrial Manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Written Communication Skills
  • Ability to gather and document information
  • Ability to lift or move objects up to 45 pounds.
  • Mechanical Knowledge.
Preferred:
  • Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation.
Physical Demands:
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift
  • Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours as required.

  • No to Very Little Travel Likely
