Offal Attendant - 2nd Shift

- Monitors and operates offal equipment and machinery such as tumble screens, augers, pumps, motors, dewatering equipment, compressors, chemical feed equipment, etc.
- Observes the fill level on trailers and tankers
- Drives jockey truck to move full and empty trailers and tankers
- Monitors mechanical waste water equipment such as meters, pumps, motors, electrical, pivots, etc.
- Measures and monitors waste water chemicals such as santiquan, polymer, and caustics. Washing soaps, etc.
- Performs cleanup and housekeeping tasks for assigned work area, tools, equipment, facilities, and grounds (i.e. walls and ceiling in receiving area, outside offal area, offal hole near open top, etc.)
- Works with third party drivers to coordinate the pick-up and delivery times of loaded and empty trailers and tankers
- Bail and compact cardboard as requested
- Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Safety & Environmental Manager
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
- Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
- Experience with pumps, valves, and irrigation systems.
- Must be able to drive a tractor or ability to learn (good driving record and valid GA driver license required)
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience required
- Must be able to drive jockey truck to move offal trailers and tankers.
- Must have the ability to work alone, use good judgment and make decisions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Relative poultry industry experience.
- Basic math functions and skills.
- Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Frequently lifts up to 50 lbs. (daily).
- Walks inside and outside environment on a daily basis (1-5 miles per day).
- Frequently stoops, kneels, crawls, and bends.
- Must have good visual skills including the ability to see and distinguish colors.
- Must have good listening skills.
- Climbs stairs daily and occasionally climbs ladders. Must have the ability to work daily on elevated structures.
- Constantly subject to work in inclement weather conditions such as extremely wet, cold and hot environments.
- Frequently talks and receives auditory information from using two-way radios.
- Ability to work in an environment with strong and foul odors.
- Must use smelling senses to distinguish irregular odors.
