Position Title: Detailing Manager - Structural Steel and Misc MetalsLocation: St Louis, MOJob Type: Full-timePosition Overview:We are seeking a Detailing Manager with expertise in misc metals and structural steel to join our team. The Detailing Manager will oversee the preparation of detailed drawings and plans for structural steel and various misc metal/steel projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.Key Responsibilities:Team Management:
  • Supervise a team of detailers responsible for creating structural and misc steel fabrication and erection drawings.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to ensure high-quality work and efficient workflows.
  • Monitor project assignments and deadlines to meet project requirements.
  • Manager will also complete detailiings as required
Drawing Review and Approval:
  • Review and approve structural steel drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers to address design issues and revisions.
Quality Assurance:
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and consistency in detailing work.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of detailing processes and output to identify areas for improvement.
Project Coordination:
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination between detailing, fabrication, and erection phases.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external teams to resolve conflicts and address project-related issues.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in structural steel detailing, including experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Proficiency in detailing software such as SDS2, Advance Steel, or AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel design principles, fabrication processes, and industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to review and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred but not required.
