Structures Practice Lead (Multiple Locations)

• Manage design, plan preparation and construction services for the assigned projects efficiently and responsibly
• Understand clients’ needs and design requirements
• Manage project scope, fee and schedule and address requests for additional work
• Prepare for and attend progress meetings on projects
• Design and direct plan preparation activities for highway structures including reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and/or steel bridges
• Design retaining walls, drainage structures and other transportation related structures
• Analyze structure needs and develop type, size and location recommendations
• Ensure conformance to design standards
• Verify that quality control procedures are met and documented

• Maintain effective communication with all levels of staff and demonstrate leadership abilities with project team
• Manage and direct the activities of the structures team to achieve project goals and deadlines
• Manage assigned work load and schedule and forecast future resource needs
• Mentor team members and build team consensus/buy-in

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships to understand and identify current and future needs
• Actively engage with pursuit team on pursuit life-cycle process, win strategies, proposal development, and interviews and presentations
• Be a Wilson & Company brand ambassador
• Supports company’s strategic objectives, processes, and tools
• Identifies and engages in professional organizations and key conferences/industry events
• Engages and collaborates with marketing team to identify and win new projects.
• Enters and maintains applicable data using Vantagepoint

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Masters degree is a plus)
• 12+ years of experience with transportation structural engineering design including bridge, retaining wall and other miscellaneous structures; the ideal candidate having 15 or more years of experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Utah, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
