To find out more about our commitment to sustainability and about Amcor, visit .Job DescriptionI.Purpose:The QA Tech position is responsible for performing various tests on materials throughout the manufacturing process, in accordance to client specification. The QA Tech is also responsible for conducting various audits from work procedures to GMP audits.II.Duties
  • Follows all Company policies and procedures related to safety-maintains only the highest safety standards by wearing proper PPE, etc
  • Perform tasks within acceptable limits for quality, quantity, sanitation, and timeliness of completion, paying particular attention to prevent and eliminate costly errors;
  • Follows procedures for proper handling, labeling, storage and use of chemicals and wastes.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, in accordance to 5S Standards, by cleaning spills and disposing of trash on a timely basis;
  • Meet normal attendance requirements including timely reporting of absence and working overtime as requested;
  • Support the implementation of: process specifications, statistical process controls, computerized data systems, test cells, training and procedure support.
  • Participates on Continuous Improvement teams, conducts audits of the operation and issues corrective actions, follow ups on completion and effectiveness of action.
  • Conducts GMP audits and issues report/finding.
  • Acts as a leader in QA to ensure:
  • Consistency in testing execution and frequency
  • Cohesiveness and teamwork among employees
  • Consistency in training
  • Appropriate use of slow periods to:
  • Cross train lab assistants for contingency use.
  • Implement growth projects for themselves and lab technicians.
  • Improvements and changes in QA policies/procedures/work instructions are correctly implemented.
  • Complies with sanitation guidelines and good manufacturing practices related to neatness, product cleanliness and personal hygiene.
  • Participates in on-the-job training and instruction to learn other job tasks
  • Complies with Company policies and performing other duties as assigned;
III.Knowledge1.Requirements
  • Possess a basic understanding of scientific methods, lab testing equipment, quality assurance concepts, statistical process control and charting, equipment validation and lab procedures.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must possess the ability to operate basic hand tools.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
2.Sources
  • 1-3 years experience in a quality assurance position, preferably in a printing and/or laminating environment
  • Associate’s degree in basic sciences or graphic arts (Preferred)

  • Daily contact with maintenance workers, shift supervisor, production employees and production planners.
2.External
  • Limit exposure to external contacts.
V.ResponsibilityResponsible for testing material throughout several stages of the manufacturing process.VI.Physical RequirementsThe position requires an employee to stand and walk for an extended period of time. Exposure to moderate noise levels and potentially hazardous materials. Must be able to lift a maximum of 55 lbs and must adhere to PPE and GMP requirements.
