Responsibilities & QualificationsBOEM and BSEE are responsible for managing the nation’s offshore energy, minerals, and natural resources on the Federal Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). BSEE promotes safety, protects the environment, and conserves resources offshore through vigorous regulatory oversight and enforcement. BOEM manages the responsible exploration and development of offshore energy and marine mineral resources on the OCS. OCS production accounts for about 18 percent of domestic crude oil and four percent of domestic natural gas supply.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement comprehensive system integration strategies aligned with organizational objectives and technological advancements.
  • Lead the design of integrated systems, considering scalability, interoperability, and security requirements.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on specialized applications, operational environments, systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation, ensuring alignment with technical and business goals.
  • Contribute to planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation of all systems development and enhancement efforts, providing detailed recommendations to accomplish goals effectively.
  • Evaluate and select third-party vendors for system integration tools and platforms, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
  • Define and maintain integration architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across the organization.
  • Conduct prototyping and proof of concept activities to validate integration approaches and technologies.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and troubleshooting of integration issues, providing timely resolutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and security of integrated systems.
  • Compose technical documents including user manuals, training guides, specifications, and white papers to facilitate system understanding and usage.
  • Provide training to internal teams on system integration processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with system integration projects, proactively addressing potential challenges to project success.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends related to system integration, continuously evaluating and enhancing integration processes and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements for successful system integration implementations.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, providing regular updates on system integration projects and addressing any concerns or feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, implementing robust security measures to protect integrated systems from potential threats.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of integrated systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and cost savings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business or relevant field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in system integration and software development.
  • Proficiency in integration technologies such as ESB, ETL, API management, and middleware.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.
  • Certification or specialized training in the related technical subject matter

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
  • Knowledge of industry-standard data formats and protocols such as XML, JSON, SOAP, REST, etc.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, including encryption, access control, and data protection.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and coach junior team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL, or PMP are a plus.
