Apply now and select where you will make a difference!POSITION OBJECTIVE:Planning, organizing and implementing an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiencesDevelop schemes of work and lesson plansEstablish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activitiesPrepare classroom for class activitiesProvide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activitiesIdentify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needsInstruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipmentUse relevant technology to support instructionObserve and evaluate students' performance and developmentAssign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignmentsProvide appropriate feedback on workEncourage and monitor the progress of individual studentsMaintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and developmentUpdate all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulationsPrepare required reports on students and activitiesManage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and proceduresMaintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the schoolApply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessaryPerform certain duties but not limited to student support, counseling students with academic problems and providing student encouragementParticipate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizationsParticipate in department and school meetings, parent meetingsCommunicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needsKeep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activitiesOther duties as assignedQualificationsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institutionMeet professional teacher education requirements of school and stateSingle subject teaching credential, certification or endorsement if teaching a specialized subjectRelevant teaching experienceKnowledge of relevant technologyIVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance CardPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.NOTE:The above job description is intended to represent only the key areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the business needs of the department.The Leona Group is an equal opportunity employer with a continuing policy to ensure that fair and equal employment opportunities are extended to all persons without regard to race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, or disability.
