As a Special Projects superintendent the primary responsibility is all daily job site related activity such as safety, cost, quality, and schedule. The superintendent will regularly communicate with the Project Manager and Special Projects Division Manager. The ideal candidate should have multiple years of field experience and also some carpentry experience.RESPONSIBILITIES:Project Planning and Schedule Management:
  • Prepare, implement, and maintain the master project schedule, posting and tracking milestone dates on-site.
  • Create and distribute 2-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Review project specifications and create lists of submittals, deliverables, and close-out document requirements.
  • Maintain working sets of As-Built Drawings and update plans as needed.
Document Management and Coordination:
  • Manage the RFI and submittal processes, including preparation, submission, tracking, and processing through project management software.
  • Collect and verify subcontractor T&M tickets.
  • Coordinate and schedule inspections with subcontractors and building officials.
  • Process building permits and necessary forms required by relevant agencies.
  • Maintain a project directory with accurate trade-specific contacts.
  • Attend and participate in subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, and OAC meetings.
Project Execution and Quality Assurance:
  • Coordinate and direct subcontractor activities with a focus on project schedule and critical milestones.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of project reports and change orders.
  • Upload weekly jobsite photos into project management software.
  • Execute internal punch lists and work with Project Administrator to complete Owner/Architect punch lists.
  • Work with subcontractors and design professionals to proactively address issues affecting project schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Understands his/her contribution to achieving the five-year strategic plan and the annual plan.
  • Understands and operates under the company’s SOP’s at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience in construction project management or a related role is often preferred.
  • Solid understanding of construction processes, project management concepts, and field operations.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling, including the ability to develop and manage project schedules.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to coordinate subcontractor activities and project execution effectively.
  • Experience in project documentation and familiarity with administrative tasks.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards on construction sites.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address project-related challenges.
