- Strategic Planning: In collaboration with our AD, execute and evaluate Hillel at ASU's strategy for connecting with and impacting the full arc of student participation including:
- Making an impact on students' lives during key moments - from welcome week to graduation, and all Jewish and campus key dates in between
- “Breadth moments” (our largest programmatic and engagement initiatives, seeing 200-300+ at each program/initiative)
- Program Oversight: Based on observation of our current systems and conversations with student and staff leaders, create and document program processes that will provide a structured framework. You will help guide staff and student leaders through each stage of program development, implementation, and evaluation while fostering clarity, consistency, and accountability throughout the entire process.
- Data Management: Power our data-informed decisions and iterative student engagement strategies by overseeing the collection, maintenance, and reporting of student engagement data, and spearheading analysis, in partnership with Hillel International.
- Marketing: Play a key role in brand management through the following responsibility areas:
- Manage our social media scheduling software
- Run our texting communication platform
- Publish weekly content (such as our newsletter and weekly event marketing needs)
- Execute large-scale marketing campaigns (such as high holidays and signature socials) to increase our brand awareness and expand our reach across digital platforms.
- Calendaring: Manage our comprehensive week-to-week programming calendar towards our goals of diverse and balanced programming, ensuring our internal calendars are accurately updated and reflected on our external communication channels.
- Program Production:
- In collaboration with student leaders, curate, produce, and manage our four largest signature socials, as well as key community-wide Shabbat dinners, and all holiday celebrations. These are highlight moments of the year and you will be responsible for overseeing the project management from ideation to execution.
- Serve as our “Event Manager” overseeing the behind-the-scenes of large breadth moments.
- Examples include: creating event “run of show” flow charts, coordinating staff and student leadership involvement, managing the registration process, and communicating with our external vendors.
- Finance: Alongside our Assistant Director, manage a programming budget of $300,000+
- Team Collaboration: Troubleshoot daily program operations that arise and assist the Student Impact Team in finding suitable solutions.
- Examples include: a staff member needing to adjust marketing that is scheduled to go up that day or identify a new kosher catering system.
- Hold at least 5 relationship-building meetings/ a week to develop 1/1 relationships and gain a deeper understanding of our various target audiences.
- Be a part of the staff rotation for Shabbat and holiday programming, ensuring each and every student feels warmly welcomed into Hillel's “doors.”
- Staff “The First Six,” our welcome week(s) initiative, and each semester's “Signature Social.”
- Support recruitment for immersive experiences such as Birthright Israel, Jewish Learning Fellowships, and social cohort experiences.
- Participate in ongoing Jewish learning and professional development.
- 3-5 years in Jewish, experiential, or higher education
- Experience as a professional in a Jewish nonprofit organization is preferred
- Bachelor's degree required
- Proven success in:
- Management of multiple projects while maintaining a high level of quality
- Program production of large-scale events (seeing 150+ in attendance)
- Curating program evaluation and processing tools
- Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
- Developing and/or implementing a strategic plan, including reporting and tracking data
- Understanding the needs of a highly diverse, social student population, and knowing how to navigate a large campus environment.
- Mentoring and coaching lay leaders or volunteers.
- Keen organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
- A data-driven approach that will take our student engagement to the next height.
- Demonstrated confidence working within higher education and campus settings.
- You are willing and happy to get your hands dirty. You aren't afraid of a little scrappiness and love to problem-solve on your feet!
- An awareness of your unique Jewish knowledge and experiences and ability to serve as a role model and inspire others to be on a Jewish journey.
- An eye for brand and marketing. You know how to tell a story/speak to an audience and have experience utilizing current social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook TikTok, etc.)
- Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary for this role is $55,000 - $60,000.
