It is essential the Product Regulatory Compliance Specialist is able to effectively identify & communicate threats and opportunities from a product compliance perspective to all relevant stakeholdersYou will have a significant impact by protecting our brand and by supporting Avery Dennison’s mission to deliver innovative products and intelligent solutions to customers all over the world.The position will be located at our European Headquarters in Oegstgeest, the Netherlands, reporting to the Senior Manager Product Stewardship EMENA (who is also based in Oegstgeest).Tasks and Responsibilities:Be able to do chemical risk assessment reports and confidently sign off on better chemical raw material choices for our adhesive formulations with the relevant final application in mind.Act as point of contact and guide for all regulatory compliance related requestsMaintain working knowledge of relevant chemicals regulations (EU & UK REACH, Chemical strategy for Sustainability, POPs, PFAS) as well as regulations aimed at Food & Pharma applications..Evaluate the impact of expected developments in relevant legislation and regulations (global, EU and national) on product compliance and provide recommendations and support on how to best manage the pending changesProvide input for the design and the implementation of the product compliance strategies, policies, programs and systemsCommunicate effectively both internally and externally. The internal stakeholders include (Technical) Sales, Marketing, R&D, Legal, Operations, EHS, the main external partners are customers, end users, health institutions, certified test institutes, legal firms and government agenciesQualificationsStrong scientific background & education on an academic level (Master degree or Bachelor degree) in a relevant discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology (toxicology), Pharmacy, Food science) or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in a similar role within an international, fast-paced industrial environment. Global regulatory knowledge is a plus.Strong Analytical skills and consistent eye for detailEngineering knowledge and technical acumen with an ability to understand technical specification and communicate the implications to non-technical peopleAdditional InformationWe offer:
