- Through exposure to management of projects, learn how to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
- Build skills to follow and be responsive to project budgets and schedules; learn to identify departures from the project’s defined scope of work.
- Learn to coordinate all design work with other team disciplines.
- Increase proficiency in relevant design, modeling, and pole-loading software applications such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil3D, Revit, AutoCAD Electrical Design Suite; MicroStation with Substation or Plant add-in, ETAP, SKM, MFAD, LPILE, or Cymcap, as well as business applications including Microsoft Office.
- Design, manage plan production by staff, and assist in production of construction documents, including plans, specifications, calculations, and quantity takeoffs.
- Learn best practices in interpreting and applying client, company, and field standards as needed.
- Increase knowledge of local codes and industry standards.
- Increase knowledge of appropriate electrical, building mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Collaborate with teams on many different types of projects that develop service line expertise: Gas Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as Civil or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree in an appropriate field - Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering. (Preferred)
- EIT license (Preferred)
- 1+ years of experience with appropriate design, engineering, and modeling software application such as Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Electrical Design Suite; MicroStation with Substation or Plant add-in, ETAP, SKM, MFAD, LPILE, or Cymcap, as well as some knowledge of PLS-CADD.
