Job DescriptionGeneral/Position SummaryVertex is seeking an experienced senior accounting professional to join our Controllership organization leading the revenue accounting for the Company’s Pain product(s). Vertex is preparing for the potential launch and commercialization of an investigational novel selective inhibitor of NaV1.8 in acute pain. Reporting to the Executive Director of Global Revenue Accounting, the Director of Revenue Accounting, US will have responsibility for operational oversight of order to cash processes and financial reporting as well as gross to net accrual policies, estimates and controls. The Director of Revenue Accounting, US will lead the revenue accounting function for the Company’s pain product (s). This position is based in our Boston, MA office, located in the Seaport area. This role requires a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office & 2 days remote on a weekly basis.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead launch readiness activities for order to cash transactions; Develop and implement processes with third party service provider with a focus on accounts receivable management and monthly close reporting for sales, credits, receivable transactionsLead development of transaction reporting in support of accounting processes; designing requirements including leveraging automation tools already in placePartner closely with market access and trade and distribution teams to establish processes as well as internal review over transaction reportingPartner with market access team on payer contracting and other gross to net estimates to develop accrual policies and models in support of accounting monthly closeCollaborate with commercial finance and market access on monthly actualization and forecasting processDesign and implement monthly close process at time of product launch; Lead monthly close and oversee work of other team members in support of monthly closeLead the design and documentation of SOX controls relating to order to cash and revenue accounting close; post launch oversee and ensure operational effectiveness of controls as well as ensure documentation requirements are metCollaborate across global revenue accounting team in support of achieving launch readiness for Pain product(s) ; including revenue technical accounting team and revenue accounting team supporting the Company’s Cystic Fibrosis productsRequired Education Level
Bachelor's degree with a major in AccountingRequired Experience
