Our areas of strength and growth include primary and secondary packaging expertise, capital projects for new equipment, equipment automation, molded component/supplier oversight and process monitoring/optimization. Our collaborative spirit fosters an energetic and agile environment that embraces continuous improvement and maintains our right to operate within the Roche organization.The OpportunityYou are responsible for the technical oversight of primary packaging components, including kit cartons, inserts, platforms, trays and shippers. You act as Subject Matter Expert for assessment/conceptualization, development, design, specification, testing and implementation of packaging concepts related to primary packaging components.You plan and manage project activities for key IRT(Inventory Replenishment Team) projects. You define specifications of diagnostic filling & packaging equipment and packaging components in accordance with manufacturing capabilities and marketing objectives.You establish New Equipment and Processes by incorporating technical and business knowledge and expertise. You support Operations in the design, maintenance, scale-up, optimization, automation, troubleshooting and validation of manufacturing processes or equipment. You prepare user requirements, bid package, capital justification, and acceptance testing strategy for all new processing, filing and packaging equipment.You manage package development by changing primary container and closure systems to maximize quality, throughput and minimize cost. You develop package components and materials according to market requirements and manufacturing capabilities. You investigate and resolve problems related to packaging component materials.You assist with Process Flow Analysis by designing and/or performing studies to assist Operations in the monitoring of processes, equipment and facilities to optimize efficiencies, increase capacity, incorporate process changes, etc. You present recommendations to IRT or Technical Teams.You oversee manufacturing documentation through creation by supporting product launches and manufacturing, including but not limited to filling records, packaging records, packaging development purchasing specifications and SOP’s. You initiate and oversee change requests and design change requests as needed.You lead a cross-functional project team for complex projects within operations. This includes monitoring, facilitating and prioritizing activities to meet project schedules.Who You AreYou have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education work experience.You have at least 5 years work-related experience.PreferredYou have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Packaging or Biomedical Engineering.You have 5-6 years experience in manufacturing engineering in a pharmaceutical, biotech or diagnostic manufacturing industry.You have hands-on experience with dimensional metrology and part inspection.You have experience with primary packaging testing methods including distribution testing, container closure integrity testing and leak testing.You have an understanding of manufacturing engineering principles; manufacturing process flow, analysis, diagnostic equipment and packaging componentsYou are self-motivated, passionate, and operate with a high level of self awareness, integrity and authenticity.LocationsYou are local to Branchburg, New Jersey.*Relocation benefits are not available for this position.The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Branchburg, New Jersey is $72,100 and $133,900. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
