Specifically, we ensure all required DG documentation is received to obtain vessel and port approvals for the transportation of DG cargo. - Excellent oral and written communication skills
- MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word, SharePoint)
- Current Dangerous Goods certificate and/or IMDG Code working knowledge
- Understanding classifications of Hazardous cargoes and properties
- Industry knowledge of shipping/container industry
- Review Dangerous Goods (DG) cargo details and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) / Safety Data Sheet (SDS) received from customers to ensure regulatory compliance
- Input DG details and upload DG documents into company proprietary systems
- Submit DG applications to vessel operators and ports to obtain approvals
- Coordinate with other departments regarding status approvals and restrictions
- Respond to customer and technical inquiries regarding the transportation of hazardous cargoes and review of technical references such as MSDS/SDS, 49 CFR, IMDG Code, Transport Canada
- Assist with ad hoc service recovery and routing options
