Job Summary
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional responsible for the delivery of patient care.
  • The nurse is guided by professional nursing standards.
  • The RN may direct activities of other nursing department personnel.
  • All nursing care functions/responsibilities are based on the ANA standards.
  • Staff is required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Adheres to the Nursing Code of Ethics, Avera’s Mission and Avera’s Service Excellence Standards.
Education and/or Experience
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor’s Degree at minimum.
  • 3-5 years experience is required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Participates in educational opportunities and updates/maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required for all patient care staff.
  • ACLS is required by 1 year of employment in E.R.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course is required within 1 year in E.R.
  • PALS is required by one year of employment in E.R.
  • Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
  • Certification in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) within one year of employment.
  • Certification requirements to be maintained while working in the department.
Work Schedule
  • Rotating day/night shifts; Per Diem
PayThe hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience
  • $50.00 flat rate
