Description :The Hockey Skills Coach will lead and engage groups of athletes engaged in hockey specific skills and drills to include, but not limited to, shooting, stickhandling, and hockey skating treadmill training. The hockey skills training will be marketed by Training HAUS, to be executed within TCO/Training HAUS facilities.Part-time role, FTE .6, out of our Shakopee location.Summer: Monday - Friday, day or evening and some weekendsFall, Winter, Spring: Monday - Friday mostly late afternoon and evening and some weekendsTwin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health).Essential Functions:
  • Maintain routine schedule of skills and drills as advertised and promoted through Training HAUS
  • Develop and maintain rapport with high level clients engaging in hockey skills/drills
  • Provide instruction of hockey specific skills and drills within the scope of practice defined by skills curriculum and proper drill progression.
  • Communicate with sport coaches and coworkers in a professional manner
  • Collaborate with therapy managers, physical therapists and sports performance coaches across the organization as needed
  • Maintain safe environment for self, staff and patients
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding any safety or incident report issues occurring during fitness classes or personal training sessions.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher degree required in one of the following areas
  • Coaching
  • Exercise Physiology
  • Kinesiology
  • Nutrition and Wellness
  • Athletic Training
  • Physical Therapy
  • Proof of up-to-date CPR/BLS certification
Essential Requirements:Ability to:
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines.
  • Complete job required training.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
  • Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
  • Work in the clinic or outreach setting during business hours
  • Travel independently throughout the workplace (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
  • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
  • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions
  • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Travel to other work locations, if required
