We provide peace of mind bookkeeping clients can trust.POSITION OVERVIEWThis position’s primary goal is to provide our customers with an outstanding bookkeeping and client experience. This goal is achieved by flawlessly executing recurring and one-off bookkeeping tasks. This position requires candidates to be available for regular meetings, internally with our team, and externally with our clients during standard business hours.The candidate should be technologically fluent and comfortable meeting virtually in a quiet environment that is distraction-free. Our team highly values a deep work/life balance, but there may be a few times a year when additional work hours are needed on evenings and weekends to prepare for specific deliverables.As an Associate Bookkeeper, you play a crucial role in helping us deliver outstanding services to our clients. You partner with our senior bookkeeping staff, helping them execute all necessary tasks and bookkeeping functions for your assigned clients.Your role is to assist with the management and execution of entering data into QuickBooks Online, reconciling accounts, posting bills and accounts payable transactions, recording invoices and accounts receivable transactions, pulling and organizing statements and documents, and maintaining our project management system.$20 - $25 / hour (depending upon experience).DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAvailability between the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST, Monday–Friday, is required.QuickBooks Online Responsibilities:
  • Entering and categorizing financial transactions
  • Setting up and maintaining rules
  • Entering bills and bill payments
  • Entering invoices and customer payments
  • Monthly reconciliations of all active bank, credit card, loan, other accounts or data
  • Reconciling merchant processing and shopping cart reports
Document Management
  • Managing backup documentation and saving to multiple cloud-based systems, including G-Drive, QuickBooks Online, Notion
  • Collecting W9s from vendors and 1099 preparation
  • Sending monthly client reports as directed by their Statement of Work
  • Preparing Digital Tax Packages
  • Documenting Processes and Systems
  • Updating any existing client documents, including SOPs
  • Suggesting and creating new documents and systems when there is a need.
  • Updating project management system with new processes or revising existing processes as needed
General Tasks and Expectations
  • Notifying senior staff and management of accounting errors
  • Striving to increase efficiency, improve the accounting process, and find ways to automate whenever possible.
  • Weekly/Biweekly Zoom meetings with Good Cents team
  • Communicate and interact with clients via email, phone, or Google Meet
  • Meeting client deadlines
SKILLS, ABILITIES, and ATTRIBUTESThe ideal candidate possesses the following strengths and skills:
  • 1 - 3 years of experience working using QuickBooks Online
  • Eager to learn the ins and outs of rock-solid bookkeeping and accounting systems
  • An ability to manage multiple responsibilities daily
  • A helpful disposition - working with people’s money is delicate, so it’s crucial you be 100% driven by a positive client experience.
  • You can use or learn quickly Slack, Gusto, Notion, Clockify.
  • Incredibly high follow-through. Detail is your middle name. You have high standards, and mediocre is not a word in your vocabulary.
  • Highly organized
  • The ability to speak up when processes aren’t working
  • A high level of professionalism and emotional maturity
  • You must be a self-starter with the ability to be productive from your home office
  • Uses good judgment to act in the best interest of the organization and as a representative of the organization to employees, client, and vendors
