Cost and Value Engineer

• Use your knowledge, experience, and supplier intelligence to create component cost estimates
• Influence cost effective design solutions as part of a cross-functional team (Design to Cost)
• Identify and analyse cost drivers to effectively support & influence supplier negotiations
• Partner with commercial teams to lead supply chain mapping, execute lean cost improvement workshops and support sourcing strategy creation with cost insight
• Cost focal for Power Electronics and Electrical Distribution Systems

• Engineering Degree level qualification preferable or equivalent industry experience with at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge & strong experience of manufacturing processes, associated to electronics and electromechanical components
• Experience in bottom-up activity-based cost estimation (ABC)
• Design process, sourcing, product cost management & commercial awareness
• Good understanding of Cost Engineering & Financial principles
• Comfortable to deal independently with partners and suppliers, willing to travel and learn facts on-site
• Ability to defend own fact-based position, whilst being open minded to adjust if new information becomes available
• Fluent English written and spoken required
