Currently, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to join our team.Job Description: As the Director of Nursing (DON), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of quality nursing care to our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in long-term care and significant supervisory experience. You will be responsible for overseeing the nursing department, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the nursing department, including supervising nursing staff and delegating responsibilities as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care facilities.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of nursing care and resident safety.
  • Collaborate with other department heads to coordinate resident care plans and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and monitor the quality of care provided.
  • Oversee staff training and development initiatives to ensure competency and professional growth.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to nursing care, medication administration, and resident assessments.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement activities to enhance resident outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison between residents, families, and healthcare providers to address concerns and promote positive communication.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in long-term care nursing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations governing long-term care facilities.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and electronic health record systems.
  • Commitment to resident-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
