This role will be a technical resource that assists in processing the organization's domestic and international payrolls accurately and timely using the applicable payroll system. This role will also take a lead role in ensuring data integrity, developing reports and analytics, testing system updates, and analyzing data flows for process improvements. This role will serve in coaching peers in the processing of payroll, understanding the functionality and developing versatile data reporting.
  • Automating processes, interface troubleshooting and reconciliation, distributing and preparing payments, benefits, tax calculation and reconciliations, executive compensation, garnishments and child support, calculating overtime
  • Manages the payroll processing of executive stock compensation, including Section 16 officers and corresponds with brokerage firm
  • Develops various Payroll / HR reports and maintains accuracy of payroll records
  • Analyzes and resolves employee inquiries and troubleshoots issues affecting payroll
  • Recognizes and identifies data, procedural, and system problems and provides solutions and efficiency improvements
  • Develops, documents, and revises system procedures and test procedures, ensuring compliance with established SOX controls
  • Participates in HCM upgrades, assists with testing, and prepares and updates the appropriate documentation
  • Manages multiple items concurrently while prioritizing tasks in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • Manages international payroll for several global locations including net pay and statutory tax funding.
  • Coaches peers in production activities as well as development of advanced reporting mechanisms.
  • Organizes and directs year end payroll tasks.
  • Managing the extraction and compilation of payroll data for successful transitional needs.
  • Provides detail payroll process, functionality and complete and accurate payroll data to outside vendors ensuring successful transition.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or equivalent degree, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
  • 2+ years’ experience with multi-state payroll processing
  • Experience with payroll implementation/transition preferred
  • A certification in either or both of the following is a plus: CCP, FCP
  • Full knowledge of industry practices and complete understanding of payroll principles, taxes, concepts, and practices including compliance with state and federal laws (FLSA, etc.)
  • Experience processing multi-state payrolls
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll processes and MS Excel
  • Knowledge and experience in various Human Resource areas: Payroll, HRIS, Benefits, Compensation, On-boarding, etc.
  • Proficeint knowledge in payroll time application
  • Proven ability to obtain results quickly while maintaining a high level of accuracy/confidentiality
  • Understanding of segregation of duties and internal audit requirements
  • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving, analytical, and technical abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Keen interpersonal skills and mentoring ability
  • Ability to work independently
  • Process improvement mindset
  • Advanced knowledge of pivot table reporting via versatile data structures.
  • Proven ability to research and resolve payroll system technical issues mitigating reliance on IT department.
  • In depth knowledge of Oracle Fusion payroll functionality.
