Your knowledge of Commercial HVAC will be critical in working on a variety of installations, repairs, and maintenance projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about their trade and wants to take their skills to the next level.At Carrier, we value our partnerships with our Union workers and are committed to providing payment for all travel time incurred; plus, Carrier has an on-call schedule that helps ensure better work-life balance, with on-call rotation being held every 7-8 weeks.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Inspect air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operationPerform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling unitsDiagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctionsInstall, replace, or repair damaged equipment; calibrate thermostatic controlsInstall new heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation and air-conditioning parts and equipment; repair or replace low- and high-pressure liquid linesInspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of unit and make necessary adjustment; inspect and service refrigeration equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumpsMaintain the chilled and hot water supply systemsAdjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; cleans coils, blowers, checks motors, and belt tensionsAssemble and install metal ductworkAssist in planning and designing of new installations of heating and air-conditioning systemsMaintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulationsPerforms additional duties and responsibilities as requiredRecognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safelyWork to mitigate potential risks associated with essential dutiesCollaborate with management personnel to maintain safe working environmentsParticipate in a comprehensive OSHA-approved safety course (preferably OSHA 10- or 30-hour course) and adhere to company and regulatory compliance programsObtain or carry low voltage electrical cardObtain or carry EPA refrigerant licenseWear appropriate company issued uniformObtain or carry any needed mechanical licenses for city or state work performedRequired Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED5+ years of experience installing, updating, operating, maintaining, repairing, and removing HVAC equipmentMust be able to stand, crawl, sit, squat for an extended periodAbility to push/pull/lift up to 50lbsMaybe required to pass a satisfactory examination as to skills and ability as a Building TradesPossess and maintain valid and current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier.Has to be part of or willing to join the UnionPreferred Qualifications:Principles and practices of Heating, Venting, Air Conditioning (HVAC) maintenance and repair; hazard and safety practices common to the tradeHVAC controls and safety devices; appropriate Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) / chemical usages; tools of the trade; materials and refrigerant recovery equipment and procedures used in installing, repairing and maintaining HVAC systemsComputerized electrical circuits and systems as they relate to air-conditioning, heating, ventilating, and refrigerated coolingSheet metal, electrical, plumbingBasic understanding of building automation controlsRSRCAR#Li-OnSite#ServiceTechUSPay Range: $25.96 - $58.65 per hourBenefits availableApplications are ongoingCarrier is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
