Offer DescriptionA significant part of the noise emitted by airplanes comes from the engines, and more particularly from the fan. To reduce this noise, sound absorbing materials (acoustic liners) made of resonant cavities are placed in the wall of the engine. The a high speed turbulent grazing flow present in the engine interacts with the acoustic liner, modifying its acoustic response (its impedance), and also increasing the drag. The general objective of this PhD thesis is to understand the physics of this interaction by performing high fidelity numerical simulations.RequirementsResearch Field Engineering » Mechanical engineering Education Level Master Degree or equivalentSpecific RequirementsBackground in Fluid Mechanics, Acoustics, Numerical Simulation.Languages ENGLISH Level GoodAdditional InformationWebsite for additional job detailsWork Location(s)Number of offers available 1 Company/Institute Institut Prime Country France City Poitiers GeofieldWhere to apply E-maildavid.marx@univ-poitiers.frContact CityPoitiers WebsitePostal Code86073STATUS: EXPIRED
