Managing daily activities of purchase department, including captive procurement. Vendor development- local and overseas, for effective and efficient buying Participating in bid processes for procurement as and when required. Responsibilities & Duties Oversee and supervise all the activities of the procurement department. Leads reliable and trustworthy vendor/supplier selection and maintains key working relationships for all procurements, including captive procurement. Develop and execute suitable and effective purchase strategies. Negotiate with suppliers/vendors for optimum terms. Devolve and execute rate contracts for regular supplies and consumables. Assess, manage, and mitigate risks; perform cost and scenario analysis; identify cost saving opportunities. Review standard pricing updates. Expected Traits And Skills For Job Compliances Demonstrable previous experience in Procurement, preferably from engineering goods manufacturing company. Knowledge of Hydraulic, electric, electronics and pneumatic circuits and parts. Proven track record of handling & negotiating contracts. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills Ability to work with diverse internal customer base and on cross business project teams. Ability to take initiative and analytical perception capabilities. Working knowledge of MS office and ERP Sound perception of Purchasing principles and business ethics associated with dealing with suppliers and internal customers. Effective communication skills and presentation capabilities. Academic Qualification Bachelors in mechanical engineering (Mandatory) MBA Material Management or Supply Chain Management (Desired) Experience 10-12 years of experience of handling procurement and related activity, preferably in engineering and mechanical items.
