- Be responsible to craft portfolio wide strategies for: use of AI/ML, Data intake, routing and storage, and application modernization and cloud migration
- Help the teams execute on these strategies, often participating in specific design and implementation activities
- Establish, maintain and evangelize architecture best practices throughout the portfolio, including elements such as documentation standards, API best practices, Code Quality, and dependency management
- Regularly review product engineering practices and processes, along with architecture and documentation
- Represent the portfolio on company wide architecture councils
- Participate in technology and company evaluations for potential merger and acquisition scenarios
- Mentor product architects to help them drive consistency and best practices in their individual products
- Advise Senior Leadership on technology direction, strategy and roadmap decisions
- Work with security leadership to ensure compliance and best practices across the portfolio
- Define architecture for large, ‘big bet’ style projects that represent 10’s or 100’s of millions of dollars of investment
- Be on the cutting edge, keeping ahead of trends, emerging technology, tools, and practices that could be used to accelerate delivery of capability to the market
- 15+ years of experience in developing and architecting software solutions, both for internal and external customers
- Experience and ability to create material for presentations that are concise and impactful
- Deep understanding of the technical aspects of software engineering from coding through delivery and maintenance
- Understanding of the healthcare industry from a business perspective
- Proven excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to work with a variety of people with diverse goals and create consensus
- Proven patience, perseverance, and an eye toward detail
- Proven desire and a passion for good architecture and an infectious positive attitude toward quality
