- Provide support to the Director of Engineering and provide direction in the field regarding technical and quality issues.
- Work with the Systems Manager to facilitate and support the testing work being performed in the field.
- Work with the Project Manager and Field Supervision to develop Plans for future work.
- Under oversight of the Project Manager, maintain schedules and status updates.
- Assist in developing and implementing project-specific BIM strategies, scope, and plan for the work.
- Utilize Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP to create installation shop drawings and sketches from contract drawings.
- Responsible for layout of electrical systems, including cable trays, conduits and equipment in 3D for BIM coordination.
- Participate in customer, project, and design meetings to gather and review project related requirements and resolve conflicts with other trades.
- Must be able to develop and understand point to point drawings.
- Perform basic design calculations (i.e. pulling calculations, duct sizing, etc.) under Engineer direction and review.
- Prepare and manage communications internally and with general contractors or construction managers for assigned projects.
- Travel to various project sites is required.
- Maintain confidentiality of engineering department and company information.
- 1 - 5 years related experience in electrical industry.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering desirable but not required.
- Knowledge of the electrical construction industry, contract documentation, and the National Electrical Code and design.
- Experience performing electrical/construction/engineering calculations.
- Proficient in AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel applications.
- Conscientiousness, personal responsibility, and dependability.
- Ability to adapt to an office environment and act in a principled, ethical fashion.
- Skilled in written and verbal communications.
- Must demonstrate ability to effectively organize multiple projects and resource planning skills.
