Participates in installation and commissioning of new equipment/systems.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNEDCompletes assigned preventative maintenance tasks on various equipment, e.g. inspect, adjust, lubricate, reference manuals as needed, document observations, enter work requests for repairs.Provides feedback for improving preventative maintenance tasks.Supports Sanitation maintenance requests for reoccurring basic disassembly/reassembly of equipment components, e.g. pumps.Supports equipment changeovers.Assists other Maintenance personnel with various equipment repairs and rebuilds.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESApply logic and reasoning with best practice electromechanical principles to troubleshoot and repair plant equipment failures as required to minimize manufacturing disruptions.Evaluate condition of equipment components against manufacturer’s specifications and repair or replace as required to ensure equipment is operating at its intended design capabilities and rates.Utilize technical manuals and drawings to apply logical troubleshooting and repair of equipment/systems in the absence of familiarity and previous experiences with the equipment.Interact and communicate with others throughout the facility in a professional, cooperative and supportive manner, i.e. utilize effective team working concepts.Effectively complete period preventative maintenance tasks as defined by CMMS and communicate/record abnormities so they can be followed up on as needed.Record all work done, and spare parts used, in CMMS daily, e.g. generate, comment and close work orders.Comply with all plant GMP, HACCP and Safety regulations and guidelines. Immediately report any abnormities to a Supervisor or Manager.Reach out for help from co-workers and/or supervisor if not familiar with how to resolve problem or complete an assignment. Also be willing to provide help if asked.Effectively communicate status of active equipment issues to co-workers and/or supervisor when issue has not been resolved and must be passed to incoming shift.Partner with outside service technicians and contractors as needed to troubleshoot, make repairs, installations, modifications.Participate in new equipment installation and commissioning projects.Assist machine operators with more technically complex tasks related to machine/product changeovers to ensure on time startup and efficient operation of equipment.Identification and specification of repair parts using manufacturer’s equipment manuals, drawings and/or internet as needed.Recommend improvements to procedures and manufacturing equipment/systems to improve safety, improve reliability, improve efficiencies and enhance capabilities.Be accepting to giving and receiving training as needed to broaden individual, as well as coworker, knowledge/skills. e.g. observe equipment when it is operating properly, ask questions when in doubt, provide constructive guidance to lessJOB SPECIFICATIONS:Completion of, or currently enrolled in, an accredited electromechanical technical education program with Certification or A.S.Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial electromechanical maintenance technician role maintaining machinery equipped with PLC controls, pneumatics, servos, VFD’s, hydraulic and general mechanical power transmission components.Ability to apply logic and reasoning with best practice electromechanical principles to troubleshoot root cause and repair PLC controlled industrial manufacturing equipment.Ability to evaluate condition of machine components against manufacturer’s specifications and repair or replace as required to maintain equipment’s original design capabilities and rates.Ability to interpret and extract technical information from equipment documentation (e.g. manufacturers manuals, drawings and schematics) to assist with troubleshooting, repair and spare parts identification.Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance tasks.Ability to work with personal computers, e.g. Microsoft software products.Additional trade skills experiences a plus, e.g. machining, welding, fabrication, steam systems, HVAC systems.Food manufacturing environment experience preferred.Ability to read and write English.Ability to clearly communicate technical details with co-workers.Ability to interact and communicate with others in a professional, cooperative and supportive manner, i.e. team environment.Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis.WORKING CONDITIONSFood manufacturing environment.Periodic lifting up to 60 lbs., e.g. machine components/parts during assembly and reassembly.Standing and walking for long periods of time.Candidate must be able to work from an elevated platform.Candidate must be able to work seasonal overtime and up to 7 days/week.DISCLAIMERThe preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
