It’s time to use your skills and passion to do work that matters!Job DescriptionPeterson Cat has an immediate need for an experienced Shop Welder at our San Leandro, CA location.SUMMARYThe Shop Welder performs welding and line-boring processes for repair and custom fabrication projects in the weld shop.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSThe following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Other duties may be assigned.Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.Communicate with internal and external customers in a manner that promotes a positive relationship.Perform the following welding and fabrication operations in the weld shop and on customer sites as needed with occasional supervision:Operate welding and cutting equipment.Fabricate custom components.Perform repair welds on components.Modify new and used equipment as directed.Write service reports that accurately document activities.Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and timecards in an accurate and timely manner to enable other employees to do their job in a timely manner.Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.Follow manufacturer and company installation and service guidelines and procedures to ensure quality work.Work overtime as needed within labor law guidelines.Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance.QUALIFICATIONSAssociates Degree from a fully accredited college in a related field; and a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in welding/fitting, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; an equivalent combination of education and work experience.Peterson Tractor Co. is committed to equal employment opportunity and affirmative action.
