- Hold or be Eligible for State of DE Certification (Elementary Education preferred)
- 2 years of successful experience teaching K-12 or adult learners
- Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated competency in classroom teaching
- Proficient in the use of technology; specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite
- Successful completion of the State of Delaware Pre-Professional Skills Test prior to employment
- Teaching students in assigned subject area(s) with an emphasis on reasoning and problem solving in a hybrid and/or virtual learning environment.
- Prepares instruction and activities using the program’s curriculum to assigned classes and shows evidence of preparation upon request of the supervisors.
- Assesses students' learning on an ongoing basis and alters instruction to meet group/individual needs.
- Prepare lessons for students in specified area of Adult Education: (ABE) adults whose skills are either at or below an eight-grade level.
- Instruct students individually and/or in groups using various teaching methods, and the Delaware Adult Basic Education state curricula.
- Knowledge and use of techniques appropriate for adult learners.
- Administer Pre- Post-assessment to students and interpret results to students in order to establish short and long-term goals.
- Use data to monitor and manage student learning and performance.
- Complete Weekly/Monthly data collection, reports, and report to building level contact.
- Schedule and administer TABE 11/12 assessments based on program monitoring schedule.
- Attend monthly site coordinator meetings to stay abreast on new initiatives and/or upcoming events.
- Attend staff meetings and state and local sponsored professional development activities periodically.
- Refer adult learners with challenging life issues to appropriate resources.
- Work with adult students in employment facilitation and career pathways.
- Contact students with excessive absences
