This position would be part of a very skilled team that performs airborne chemical monitoring, noise monitoring, indoor air quality surveys, asbestos and lead based paint surveys, safety audits, and other activities. This position will be primarily based in Colton, CA and provide support for projects in Los Angeles County, Orange County and San Diego County, as needed.
You will conduct initial building inspections, asbestos and lead abatement oversight and assist project managers with industrial hygiene inspections. You will evaluate sampling results and prepare risk assessment reports and develop recommendations to correct and improve the environment. In addition, you will support in environmental services such as Phase I Assessments, Limited Site Investigations, and regulatory compliance, as needed.Essential Role and Responsibilities:Performance of building inspections for asbestos-containing building materials in accordance with regulatory guidelinesPerform air monitoring and visual inspections during asbestos and lead abatement projects.Sampling of painted coatings (via paint chip or XRF) in residential, commercial and industrial settings.Calibrate, clean and maintain field monitoring equipment, such as sampling devices, sampling media and microscope.Performing indoor air quality assessments and other industrial hygiene assessments.May serve as team member or participate in meetings and communications with client pertaining to specific projects/tasks. Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management. Candidate will be required to adhere to strict company health and safety standards.Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.Ability to climb ladders, lift/carry equipment (generally up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods of timeMinimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related science field and a minimum 1 year related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years' related experience.
- DOSH Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST)
- CDPH Lead Sampling Technician
- Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
