- Receives physicians order for inpatient and outpatients. Reviews electronic medical record for pertinent history.
- Prepares patients for procedure, considering their physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs. Follows proper procedure for transport of patients when applicable. Provide patient care in a safe and compassionate manner.
- Performs echocardiograms for pediatric and adult patients according to protocol. Perform studies to ICAEL standard, department policy and procedure, and ACC/AHC standards. Examines the heart from the appropriate echo views assessing wall motion, valve function, chamber size, and any abnormalities seen, notify cardiologist of any critical results.
- Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Notify biomed of all equipment malfunctions. Notify supervisor of equipment and malfunctions.
- Assure that all patient charges can be accurately completed. Confirm that there is a correct order for all studies done.
- Assists with stress test and EKGs if needed
- Takes call on rotating schedule
- High School Diploma/GED required; Associates Degree preferred
- Graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program preferred
- 1-2 year scanning experience preferred
- RDMS or CCI certification within one year of hire preferred
