Dedicated and regional company based in IAGENERAL APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS ➢ Must be at least 22 years or older. ➢ Read & speak the English language sufficiently to converse w/general public, understand safety signs & signals and respond to official inquiries & make entries on reports/records. ➢ Have a valid CDL in state of residence (or must obtain a valid CDL within 30 days of transfer to another state). ➢ Not hold an “Occupational” or “Restricted” license or work permit. ➢ Be legally authorized to work in the United States. ➢ Sign a release for Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP), criminal background check and consent for Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse queries. ➢ Passes training/orientation requirements, including a road test.DRIVING HISTORY ➢ Ruan must be able to obtain driving record from each state where applicant held a motor vehicle license in the past three (3) years. ➢ Driver must have at least one (1) year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the last three (3) years. Applicants with at least ten (10) years of driving experience, but do not have the one (1) year of driving experience in last three (3) years, will be reviewed on a case by case basis. ➢ PSP data will be evaluated for employment consideration.MOVING VIOLATIONS ➢ Reckless driving ➢ Careless driving or causing an accident ➢ Speeding fifteen (15) or more miles per hour above the posted speed limit ➢ Texting or using a hand-held mobile telephone/device while driving or operating a motor vehicle ➢ Driving without proper endorsements for cargo ➢ Reckless driving ➢ Careless driving or causing an accident ➢ Speeding fifteen (15) or more miles per hour above the posted speed limit ➢ Speed exhibition, contest or drag race ➢ Operating a motor vehicle without permission of the owner or fleeing or eluding a police officer ➢ Texting or using a hand-held mobile telephone/device while driving or operating a CMV ➢ Driving a CMV after being declared Out of Service or Operating an Out of Service Vehicle ➢ No violation for driving without a current CDL or physical within the past 12 months in a CMV. Effective 2/1/2020 Commercial Driver License (CDL) holders (applicants, current Ruan drivers, and rehires) must meet and maintain the qualifications outlined in these Qualifications, as well as, DOT requirements as they may change from time to time. Moving Violations are defined as citations or documented warnings from law enforcement officials. Timeframes are determined from date of offense. No violation of any of the following within the past 36 months in a CMV: No violation of any of the following within the past 36 months in any motor vehicle: ➢ Speed exhibition, contest or drag race ➢ Operating a motor vehicle without permission of the owner or fleeing or eluding a police officer No more than one(1) Moving Violation for any of the following within the past 36 months in a personal motor vehicle: SUSPENSIONS License suspensions/revocations/disqualifications: ➢ No suspensions within three (3) years ➢ No more than one (1) suspension within five (5) years ➢ No more than two (2) suspensions in the last seven (7) years (Note: License suspensions resulting from unpaid tickets, lack of proof of financial responsibility, failure to pay child support, failure to appear in court, medical, or other such reasons may not be disqualifying at the discretion of Ruan management.) ACCIDENTS ➢ No more than one (1) DOT recordable, preventable (at-fault) accident in the past thirty-six (36) months. ➢ All preventable injury, fatality, rear-end, rollover or lane change DOT recordable accidents will be reviewed by Safety and may be disqualifying. ➢ No preventable trailer disconnection on a roadway (even if no other vehicle involved) in the past thirty-six (36) months. ➢ No recorded U-turn on public roadway.DRUG/ALCOHOL RELATED OFFENSES ➢ No violation of any of the following within the past 36 months in a non-CMV: • Drug/Alcohol offense • Refusal to take test required by implied consent or similar law ➢ No violation of any of the following within the past 84 months in a CMV: • Drug/Alcohol offense • Refusal to take test required by implied consent or similar law • Violation of an “open container” • Positive DOT drug or alcohol tests or refusals to test REHIRES Must meet all applicant requirements and be eligible for rehire.EMPLOYMENT HISTORY Work history for the past three (3) years must be supplied by the applicant. All driving positions within the past ten (10) years must be listed. All work history must be written on the application. Inconsistencies in work history or incomplete applications will be reviewed and may be disqualifying. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ➢ All new hire or rehire candidates must pass a DOT physical from a Ruan approved medical examiner and receive a DOT medical examiner's certificate.
