Position Purpose:Responsible the implementation of Environmental, Health and Safety policies, programs and projects that support business practices within the Berea, KY facility. Occasional business travel may be required for training and development opportunities and/or assistance to Hendrickson locations.Essential Functions:· Drive Hendrickson Safety Culture, reminding all employees they are equally important and equally necessary to the success of Hendrickson.· Creates a safe working environment for all employees, guests, and company stakeholders by providing environmental, health, and safety direction and assistance to assure the safety and health of Berea associates through Hendrickson “Vision Zero” – all incidents are preventable, and zero accidents are achievable.· Focus on sustainability and our impact on the environment in the communities where we work, as well as around the world.· Work collaboratively with local and corporate leadership teams to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure local, state, and federal regulatory compliance.· Lead the effort to obtain/maintain STAR recognition with OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) or Hendrickson’s Global Safety Excellence Certification (GSX) Program.· Lead the effort to obtain/maintain certification to the ISO 14001 and/or 45001 Environmental Management Systems.· Drive continuous improvement through (JSA) job safety analysis, focusing on industrial hygiene, PPE, ergonomics, engineering design, and behavioral based safety.· Administration of division and site EHS processes and procedures.· Collaborate with the HR Manager to facilitate incident investigation process and Workers Compensation case management as required.· Conduct division EHS training.· Conduct and manage proactive divisional safety audits and corrective actions.· Participate in (PHD) Pre Hendrickson-Deployment efforts to set clear safety expectations with new employees, drive synergy and collaboration for safety on day 1.· Participate on the Safety Excellence Team.· Maintain key performance indicators as set by the Health and Safety Excellence Team.· Prepares safety communications for education and awareness.Education and Training· Bachelor’s Degree required in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Industrial Engineering.· OSHA10 and/or OSHA30 certification, or the ability to attain within 12 months of hire.· 1-3 years’ industry experience with an emphasis on health and safety implementation in a manufacturing environment. Some environmental compliance experience is desired.Minimum Qualifications· Self-motivated with attention to detail.· Analytical mindset - results oriented.· Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.· Strong computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel).Physical Demands· Must be able to remain in a stationary position frequently.· Frequent need to move about inside office or plant designated area.· Minimally need to position self in low or tight spaces.· Occasional movement of hands, wrists, or fingers such as typing, filing, and writing.Environmental Conditions· Frequent exposure to office designated area.· Frequent exposure to loud noises over.· Seasonal exposure to hot and cold working area.*This is not a comprehensive list of duties.
