The team has experts in wide range of areas such as electromagnetic, mechanical, electrical, control algorithm, software, and project management.Motor Drives and Advanced Control (MDAC) within Power Systems is responsible for the motor control, electromagnetic, system control, EOL production solution, software, and verifications. With over 100 experts globally, our team works from early development through to the production of our designs.About the role
Dyson offers a unique opportunity for talented individuals to join its Research, Design and Development (RDD) function in Singapore as part of MDAC Team as a Graduate Motor Drives Engineer. He/she will be applying his/her skills and experience in Electrical Machines Design, Modelling and Simulation, and Power Electronics to deliver Motor Drives solution to our next generation Dyson technologies and products.You will be working as part of larger project team and some of your tasks could include:Support design, development, and implementation of motor control algorithm in both product and production as per project plan.Perform data analysis on production datalog, buy off and spot opportunities for process improvement & optimisation.Document motor control requirements, design guide, test method and implementation through Change Request.Review system verification results and provide feedbacks.Perform root cause analysis with documentation for the field return from MDAC perspectiveBe able to adapt and apply your skills to other areas of work and tasks within the business as may be required to benefit the wider team. This could include, but is not limited to, supplier liaison for issue resolution or audit, engineering design work, test rig building and production equipment commissioning.Working alongside engineers, scientists, and technical experts across a broad range of disciplines, you'll be comfortable learning from others but also sharing your own knowledge, ideas and opinions. Join us to unlock personal and professional growth and ignite your career potential.About youEssential skills and requirements:Graduating by August 2024.Working towards or have achieved a bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics or Mechatronics.Has knowledge and experience in range of aspects including electrical machine, motor control, power electronics, and analog/digital sensing technologies.Has knowledge and experience in MATLAB SIMULINK and or SPICE tools for motors.Technical analysis skills and an ability to use standard laboratory equipment to set up experiments and to take precise measurements.Statistical analysis skills to be able to gather data from multiple sources, including your own testing, to calculate such things as trends, drifts, and probabilities to identify performance against specification or to show where things are starting to go wrong.Strong teamwork and communication skills to be able to form a bridge between multiple teams.Creative thinker and problem solver; highly self-motivated and self-reliant with enthusiasm for motors, power systems and Dyson products.Able to clearly report progress in meetings together with producing a high standard of documentation.Flexible and open-minded to respond quickly to changes in project priorities.
