- Develop high-quality and high-impact communication strategies that enhance the culture and brand, engage, and inform our Spirit Team Members across all functions and throughout the network.
- Use metrics from communication performance (i.e. email open and engagement data) to continually evolve our tactics and best practices to ensure Team Members are aware of corporate news, operational performance, vision, values, and updates. Should also use feedback from stakeholders to ensure messages are delivered via the right channel to the appropriate audience (i.e. email, video, large meetings/events, intranet (Spirit LiNK) and occasional station visits).
- Develop and maintain close relationships with all segments of the company, serving as a primary communications resource and connection point as their liaison to the Communications team. Collaboration with partners is key to support the unique business needs across our airline.
- Listen and communicate effectively to create seamless collaboration and seek to fully understand needs (not just wants) of stakeholders. Use influencing skills to develop and discuss potential solutions, even before the stakeholder realizes they are required.
- Produce weekly company-wide newsletter (On The Fly) to aggregate top pieces of “news you can use” for all Team Members and Service Providers.
- Create executive presentations and evergreen visual content (such as fliers and digital assets for FourWinds tv screens).
- Manage and report out on metrics/effectiveness of our internal communications efforts, using content management systems, such as Contact Monkey.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with flexibility to jump from project to project as needed, being comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure messages capture our brand voice, are appropriately aligned, and effectively implemented in accordance with brand guidelines.
- Participate in the Communications On-Call Duty rotation to help handle after-hours communications needs as part of supporting a 24/7/365 operation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations and/or related field.
- 4-6 years’ experience in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations and/or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams Live Events)
- Proficient in Content Management Systems (like Contact Monkey)
- Self-starter with ability to work independently, balanced with partnership skills to work cross-functionally with Communications Team members and stakeholders across the airline
- Guest service focus (internal & external)
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to organize and handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
- Must be self-motivated and have a demonstrated ability to produce quality results
- High sense of professionalism and ability to work closely with senior leadership
- Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience with event planning, coordination and organization (preferred)
- Domestic & International travel up to 10% of time
- Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
- Hybrid 3+ days per week in-office; primary work location in Dania Beach, FL.
