If so, our Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Sr. Principal FPGA Design Engineer to join our growing team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.You will become part of Northrop Grumman's Systems and Software Solutions (S&SS). S&SS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-1, KC-135, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.You will support the Lead Engineer in execution of various program activities, to include Test system design and evaluation, design and development of communication, flight controls, navigation, radar, avionics, power and/or electrical systems architecture, components, circuits, and products or aircraft maintenance. The position will research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and products for defense or commercial systems.Responsibilities:Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutionsDocumentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systemsDevelopment and maintains code and integrate software components into a fully functional software systemDevelopment software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are metAssists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are metDesign, model, and document the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for metrics and analyticsEffectively generating ideas and supporting building data tools to effectively automate analysis processes and repetitive tasksInterpret data and analyze results using statistical and analytical techniques to provide ongoing reports and visualizationsRequirement gathering, design, code, and test new software or modify existing software to add new featuresEnsures software standards are metBasic Qualifications:Must have at least one of the following:A bachelor's degree in software engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 9 years of engineering experienceA master's degree in software engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years of engineering experienceA PhD degree in software engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of engineering experienceFPGA design experience with HDL (VHDL/Verilog) and HVL (SystemVerilog), SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA), UVM for FPGAs, CPLDs and/or ASICsAbility to work in teams and communicate clearly across various levels of engineersAbility to translate system performance and operational specifications into programmable logic requirements, design, and test specificationsUS Citizenship and must have interim secret clearance prior to startingOnce started, must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Security ClearancePreferred Qualifications:Significant experience in HDL (VHDL/Verilog) and HVL (SystemVerilog), SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA), UVM for PLDs, FPGAs, and/or ASICsExperience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Tools: Mentor Graphics ModelSim/QuestaSim, Xilinx, Altera/IntelExperience achieving timing closure on FPGA designsExperience in Microprocessor (PowerPC, Intel-based, SoC) designsImplementation of Digital Signal or Image Processing algorithms on FPGAsExperience developing in MATLAB/SimulinkExperience with high level programming languages (Python, C#, C/C++, etc)Experience with automated testingA strong team player who can work independentlyActive DOD Secret Clearance Salary Range: $108,900 - $163,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
