Valley Catholic Elementary School is searching for a full-time Librarian and Computer Teacher for the 2024-2025 school-year. Applicants should have:
  • Bachelor Degree or Higher
  • Current Oregon Teaching License
  • Preferred: Library Media Endorsement or equivalent studies
  • Preferred: Two (2) years of previous teaching experience
  • Preferred: Previous experience as a Librarian, Technology Teacher, or Media Specialist at the primary level.
  • Strong computer proficiency: basic MS Office programs and ability to learn Contribute (Macromedia) and the features of the online catalog (Destiny by Follett).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Design and teach lessons based on Archdiocesan library and technology standards.
  • Organize and manage the library collection.
  • Works with an automated circulation system.
  • Selects, receives, and organized books, multimedia and other materials/equipment.
  • Integrates STEM activities throughout the media program.
  • Works with staff to coordinate library actives.
  • Teaches responsibility and care for books.
  • Provides access to information through lesions that are integrated into the curriculum.
  • Actively assists students to achieve information literacy and become safe, ethical and responsible digital citizens.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend the educational levels of students he or she is working with.
  • Ability to train and supervise student assistants and volunteers.
  • Ability to work with constant interruptions, prioritize work load & multi-task.
  • Be open to acquiring knowledge of new computer applications and operating unfamiliar auto-visual gear when appropriate.
  • Preference given to Catholic candidates.
Work Environment
