- High School Diploma/GED and two years Behavioral Health experience (Bachelors preferred)
- Minimum CNA, MA or EMT certification
- CPR and First Aid Training
- Skilled Behavioral Management Techniques
- Ability to lead discussion and educational presentations.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Monitor and respond to calls to the Psychiatry appointment scheduling line.
- Track and distribute data specific to call volume to the psychiatry scheduling line and number of appointments scheduled.
- Conduct client health history/assessment and report to psychiatric provider and/or nursing staff prior to appointment.
- Assist with vital signs assessments.
- Provide follow-up communication to clients with ongoing medical concerns.
- Monitor and document client’s response to medication and report any notable response immediately.
- Act as an advocate for all clients and report all physical/psychological concerns to the medical and clinical staff.
- Supervise and manage the behavior of the clients and provide appropriate behavioral interventions and consequences.
- Facilitate communication between clinical and medical staff.
- Provide client education in individual and group settings on topics including: medications, physical health, mental health and alcohol and substance abuse issues.
- Assist with preparing clients for their appointments with the provider.
- Document pertinent information daily in the EHR based on observations and involvement with the clients as required.
- Assist with client admissions and discharges as directed.
- Verify admissions medications at admission with client’s physician or pharmacy.
- Transcribe orders.
- Assist with withdrawal screens as directed by the nurse.
- May participate in client rounds on the Unit(s) assigned.
- Assist with unit tech responsibilities as directed.
- Document client’s progress in the individualized Medical Treatment Plan for designated clients.
- Schedule client follow up medical appointments and coordinate transportation if necessary to outside providers.
- Read all logs and obtain pertinent information from staff of previous shifts, counselors, staff, etc.
- Transport clients as required.
- Oversee and maintain the neatness/cleanliness of the unit and the proper use of the equipment and supplies and to inform the proper person when supplies or repairs are indicated.
- Assume any additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Serve as a member of the Ware Center Medical Services team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
- Attend all scheduled meetings of staff, such as nursing meetings, department meetings, or appropriate committee meetings as designated.
- Understand and comply with all of the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
- Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
