- Transfer sealed envelopes from insert machines to mail trays and place filled mail trays onto pallets.
- Ensure all envelopes are stamped and sealed.
- Confirm mailing addresses and micro numbers are visible in envelope windows.
- Sort at more than one machine at a time.
- Assist machine operators with preparation work prior to start of each job and clearing of stock and materials at the end of each job.
- Assist operators with loading envelopes, inserts and other materials as needed.
- Assist operators with preparing and processing diverted and/or damaged mail pieces.
- Assist Supervisor in scheduling production runs and accepting mailing work orders and checklists into the Mailing Department, based on specified criteria.
- Verify that all necessary information needed to start each job is on the checklist and correct.
- Stage materials for the operators, including physically moving job trees requiring strenuous physical work such as heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling.
- Assist the mailing department with additional work, as needed and/or requested.
- Serve as a backup driver when needed, which includes:
- Driving company vehicles for the purpose of pick-ups and deliveries to designated locations.
- Prepare daily production volume for USPS, Pitney Bowes Pre-Sort Services (PBPS) and Direct Mailing for deliveries.
- Sort and prepare production volume for PBPS daily pickups.
- Unload mailing materials from delivery trucks.
- Retrieve and prepare first-class mail for delivery to Post Office.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment required.
- Mail sorting, expediting and/or material handling experience is preferred.
- Valid Drivers License is required.
- 1+ years driving experience without moving violations or safety concerns.
- Experience driving company vehicles is required.
- Flexibility in work schedule, frequently 10 or more hours per day, is required on a recurring basis.
