- Build new and engaging content programming solutions that help listeners choose what to listen to when they enter Spotify.
- Leverage complex recommendation technologies powered by Machine Learning to build content programming systems that evolve and improve over time.
- Partner with Product, Tech, and Insights leads to collectively set the mission, vision, and strategy.
- Work closely with senior leadership to influence and create strategic visions for the product.
- Work with your Product, Design, and Insights partners to ensure there is a deep understanding of user needs and that design solutions deliver meaningful impact.
- Challenge the status quo on innovation and quality of design work.
- Take into account existing insights, technical constraints, business needs, and specific platform demands to produce data-informed solutions.
- You'll take full ownership of your work and total responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way, from whiteboard sketching to high-fidelity final treatments.
- Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes, understanding when deeper exploration is warranted and when it is best to change paths and try another approach.
- Proactively look for and resolve high-level issues and opportunities.
- Advocate and promote the role of Design in innovative machine learning technologies.
- You have a demonstrated ability in digital product design.
- You have a strong design background with at least 7-10 years of experience in digital product design and at least 3 years of experience working on a recommendation-led experience that uses complex technologies and data.
- You have a product design background related to recommendations and personalization and are proficient in data-informed product design and development.
- You have a people-focused design mentality and want to design and build products/features that truly have a significant impact.
- You are comfortable working in ambiguous spaces that are technically complex. The thought of applying design thinking to metadata, algorithms, and machine learning genuinely excites you.
- You're a phenomenal communicator and compelling storyteller. Your written and verbal communication skills help you work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders.
- You have a proven track record to influence decision-making at all levels within an organization, and in a variety of contexts.
- You have an online portfolio or PDF that you can share with us. Applications without a portfolio are unlikely to be considered.
- For this role there will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come into the New York City office 1 time per week.
