From forecasting, funding, tracking, and reporting on projects, to ways of working, and resource management, Business Operations has visibility and input into all aspects of the team.The Global Program Management team for Media Engineering is focused on facilitating the design and engineering behind DE&E Technology’s global infrastructure and production facilities. This also includes programming systems, distribution of digital and linear networks worldwide, and much more. The department supports a diverse set of Disney brands, including ABC, ESPN, Freeform, FX, Lucasfilm, Marvel, and National Geographic.This is a staff position within the DE&E Technology: Business Operations - Global Program Management organization. The Manager, Technical Program Management, will lead the planning and execution of strategic Digital Consumer programs in the DE&E Technology portfolio.This position requires proven experience managing a team of professional employees and in program management. Ideal candidates must be highly proactive, detail-oriented, and work on multiple assignments that may span the department autonomously. They must be capable of clearly communicating schedules, risks, status, and processes to various business and technical audiences. They must partner with program and project managers and technical leads outside their area to coordinate schedules and deliverables.Key Responsibilities:Manage a team of professional employees and contractorsAccountable for the performance and results of a team in conducting technical projects or programs on time, within budget, and of the highest level of qualityManage project intake processFacilitate the creation of roadmaps in sync with intakeDrive capacity planning for direct reports and roadmapsCollaborate with other program management colleagues to coordinate dependencies and activities across multiple technology teamsManage program portfolio budgetMay drive activities for strategic technical programs, including:Develop appropriate plans and timelinesManage dependenciesEnsure transparency of progress and issues/risks. Proactively drive risk mitigation and contingency planning, along with issue resolution.Communicate status, updates, and program summaries via presentations, email, and direct communication with key stakeholders and executive leadershipEnsure that all involved parties understand and accept their roles and responsibilitiesTrack and report key program metrics, informing stakeholders as appropriateNavigate the TWDC to effectively drive progress, even when the scope of responsibilities may be unclearEnsure team is held accountable for their deliverablesUnderstands most project domain components, including architecture, tools and deployment practices, that the development team is employingIndependently manage activities and resolve conflict within associated teams.Effortlessly sift through “noise” and facilitate discussions and activities with a laser focus on results.Exemplify leadership characteristics through collaboration, work ethic, and creative thinking. Strive to inspire others and deliver the best possible outputsCoordinate with external vendors, where applicableBasic Qualifications:8+ years of experience managing large-scale, strategic programs in a well-established global technology organization, preferably with a technology infrastructure footprint3+ years of management experience (having direct reports)Capable of managing, tracking, and troubleshooting multiple initiatives in a deadline-driven environment with cross-functional teams, vendors, and partnersProven ability to facilitate effective communication across disparate teamsEvidence of solid planning, delivery, and problem-solving skillsSuperb written and verbal communications, presentation skills, and meeting facilitation skills (especially when working with senior leadership)BA/BS or equivalent experience required.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a media technology environmentMedia engineering domain knowledge, or demonstrated aptitude for learning a technology-based engineering domainFormal project management certifications#DisneyTechThe hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, California and Seattle, Washington is $149,300 - $200,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
