As a result, our community supports are as diversified and as personalized as the dreams of each person.The Benefits and Compensation Specialist provides services to Hope support recipients through their work in being responsible for a multitude of tasks in employee benefits administration, including but not limited to, Hope's health plan, leave policies including Family Medical Leave, 403(b) retirement plan, workers' compensation, and determination of employee eligibility for Hope benefits. This position analyzes and reports data on important employee information and metrics to the Agency, and provides training and communication related to employee benefits related policies and procedures. The Benefits and Compensation Specialist communicates regularly with employees regarding benefits questions and troubleshoots issues that arise.Essential Job Duties
  • Completes HRIS data entry for staff post-hire, including changes in benefit eligibility status and/or employment status, benefits enrollment, rate of pay adjustments, separations of employment, etc.
  • Completes monthly enrollment of employees into Hope's health plan, including assisting employees in enrolling through the online system and communicating with Hope's Claims Administrator.
  • Completes a variety of activities to ensure ACA compliance, including preparation and upload of employee data regarding hours worked into tracking system, quality assuring data is accurate, and communicating results to the entire Agency bi-weekly. Assists with yearly processing of 1095c tax forms for staff, as required.
  • Designs, creates, edits, and distributes a broad range of benefits communication for employees including employee specific letters, educational flyers and booklets regarding employee benefit offerings, changes in employment and benefit status, and all other related benefits and wage communications as required.
  • Meets frequently with employees to discuss options and questions regarding benefits and enrollment, workplace injuries, relevant physical limitations, and ergonomic assessment inquiries.
Requirements:Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required. Experience in lieu of education may be accepted on a one for one basis in appropriate fields.
  • Two years of experience in Human Resources required. Some experience working in employee benefits administration preferred.
