- This is a hybrid position and only candidates in the Bay Area, California, will be considered.
- Craft the future packaging for Logitech
- Understand and contribute to all phases of the design thinking process from conceptual to strategic, and tactical to implementation
- Craft beautiful details, while keeping the bigger picture in mind, and vice versa
- Provide team leadership with the ability to run projects with little support
- Develop packaging dielines, molded pulp, and other molded material packaging for complex surfaced products
- Create compelling presentations throughout development to cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with and inspire Business and Product Leads - but also work with and push the limits of suppliers for new capabilities and so on for the best solutions
- Work in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment while working closely with the rest of the packaging team (engineering, graphics, etc.) and the design department (project management, CMF, ID, etc.) both locally and internationally
- Occasionally travel overnight nationally and internationally
- Work towards our internal sustainability goals
- 5-7+ years of relevant experience in structural packaging design
- Well-versed in consumer-centered design methods and techniques
- Strong portfolio of cutting edge retail packaging design that proves not only solid design skills but forward-thinking in consumer electronics or related industry
- Experience defining Packaging Materials (paper, plastics, foam, etc.), manufacturing processes of them, properties, and relative cost basis - along with coatings and printing finishes
- Excellent skills in ideation, concept visualization, form development, CAD, model making and rapid prototyping and building this into strategy level concepts
- Excellent 2D and 3D skills: fluent in the Adobe Creative Suite, Solidworks, Artios CAD, and TOPS
- Highly driven and proactive self-starter - taking on a task without much context and driving it through
- Believes in collaboration in a multi-disciplinary design environment - not a waterfall
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills sharing your design thinking, presenting to all levels of co-workers and management throughout all stages of design
- Advanced knowledge of ISTA and related shipping tests/freight environments
- In-depth knowledge of sustainable packaging trends and practices
- Experience with packaging suppliers and understanding how they work to design solutions
- Past experience with consumer electronics, B2B, multiple SKUs, etc
- Willingness to take direction and learn from others as well a collaborate with other designers
- Optimistic outlook - we are creating the future after all
- SE Asia and Chinese vendor experience
- Experience in all parts of sustainable packaging from materials to guidelines, and using LCA software
- Currently hybrid work, and preference for candidates located in the Bay Area, as this position will require prototyping in our packaging lab as needed.
- BS in Packaging Design, Industrial Design, or equivalent packaging design experience
