- Leading and motivating all employees as a team to achieve all expectations and targets set for the facility, without compromising a positive and safe work environment
- Managing the operations to ensure no negative variances and expeditiously correcting variances as they arise
- Working with the direct management team to ensure all customer requirements are met, and interacting with the customer as necessary
- Working with the APP management team to ensure all expectations and targets are met for the organization
- Developing, implementing and maintaining Quality and Business Operating systems
- Ensuring that all employees work in a safe manner consistent with local, provincial and federal health and safety and environmental legislation
- Developing a team atmosphere by utilizing cross-functional teams during planning and implementing reviews which include all levels of employees
- Monitoring and reporting the goals for each Department through the use of periodic review meetings
- Ensuring that sufficient resources are available for each department including training, safety standards, human resources, business and shop tools
- Leading continuous improvement efforts in all areas of the business
- Meeting company requirements for annual completion of subordinates PMP
- Be an example to all employees in all areas of the business through demonstrated professionalism, positive employee relations and the ability to make accurate and timely decisions
- Lead by example with compliance to TS/ISO standards and participation in Audits (internal & external) and Management reviews
- Coordinate with Human Resource department(s) to assist in the development of policies and procedures and to recruit and select candidates for available positions as required
- Participate in monthly JHSC meetings and accident investigations if required
- Work with the production, quality, engineering and technical teams to ensure production and Customer issues are resolved
- Occasional travel to customer (internal and external) facilities as deemed necessary
- Minimum of 10 years
- Experience in assembly and plastic injection molding applications related to processes / systems
- Strong business acumen with good understanding of customer measurables and a solid understanding of equipment and processes used within the automotive industry
- Strong financial acumen with proven track record in meeting financial targets
- Experience with Chrysler, GM, and Honda, with a preference to candidates with experience in lean manufacturing or Toyota production systems
- Experience in growth, new equipment start-up, business expansion, and demonstrated success as an agent of change
- Experience with business planning and quoting
- Experience in positive labour relations with employees and Team Member Committee Representatives in a union free environment.
- Ability to work in a fast paced multi-tasked environment.
