This position is based in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.In this role, a typical day will include:Collaboration with the Project Head and the interdisciplinary core team during project execution as technical project leadWork with surgeons to assess concepts and prototypes and exchange with other experts to review research work and its further developmentDocumentation of development work in compliance with all regulatory requirementsCollaboration with the group's internal specialist and other departments, the internal prototype workshop and/or suppliers and partners to develop prototypes of microsurgical instrumentationDevelopment and implementation of manufacturing processes, associated tools and fixtures as well as test setups to record the performance of instruments or one of the subassembliesDisciplinary leadership of a team of engineersWHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:Master's degree / ETH / TU / FH studies in mechanical engineering or equivalentExperience in project management, preferably in medical technologyAt least 5 years of professional experience in a company regulated by ISO 13485High affinity for micromechanical design and materials with the corresponding tools (3D-CAD, component design, selection of manufacturing processes)Outgoing personality with a lot of initiative and very good communication skillsPronounced team player behaviorDisciplinary leadership experienceFluent German and English language skills (spoken and written)HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCON:You get the chance to help people see brilliantly.
