The Business Development Director plays a crucial role in achieving revenue targets, increasing market share, and enhancing the company's relationships with clients.Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with DSV's and client's goals and objectives.
- Identify target markets, industries, and potential clients
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Prospect, research, and identify potential clients through various channels, including cold calls, networking, and market research.
- Conduct market assessments and feasibility studies for potential clients.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline and track progress
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with Key decision makers and influencers.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their logistics needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
- Serve as primary point of contact for client inquiries and proposals.
- Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and contracts for potential clients.
- Lead contract negotiations and finalize agreements in line with company objectives.
- Ensure that contracts are compliant, profitable, and sustainable.
- Set revenue targets and sales goals for the business development team.
- Monitor sales performance, track progress, and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Collaborate closely with operations, marketing, and other teams to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment with client needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in account management or business development within supply chain
- Financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets and drive profitability
- Proven experience in account management and leadership roles
- Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute complex account plans
- Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate a team.
